In the year 1995 Lil’ Kim was sentenced for one year and one day in jail because of conspiracy and perjury, there was a shooting that Damion Butler (Kim’s Manager)was involved in and she said that she had not seen him that night , but video camera showed both of them exiting the hotel that same night.

while Lil’ Kim was in jail she released her third album The Naked Truth which was a great success and got a 5 mic rating from The Source magazine, that was a record that Lil’ Kim set. she was the first female artist to actually get double 5 mic award. the album made it to #6 at the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum after selling 2,000,000 copies world wide.

In the year 2003 Lil’ Kim released her third debuted album La Bella Mafia, the album included hit songs such as “The Jump Off”, and “Magic Stick” the album was highly rated in which it took 4.5 mics by the magazine The Source, also made it to the number 5 at the billboard 200, the album got Lil’ Kim nominated for 5 source awards but she only managed to get 2 out of them, also got her nominated for 2 grammy’s, but unfortunately she didn’t manage to get any.

Before the release of the album Lil’ Kim managed to earn her self a Grammy because of her performance for the Moulin Rouge sound track, “Lady Marmalade”, also got nominated when she collaborated with Christina Aguilera for their hit song “Can’t Hold Us Down”, this was from Aguilera’s album Stripped.

After the death of her former mentor and lover Christopher Wallace, Lil’ Kim didnt stop her personal career from there, but she continued on her road to stardom where she joined Damion “D-Roc” Butler who happens to be Wallace’s best friend, Lil’ Kim joind Roc Managment where she toured and modeled for alot of fashion designers and companies that promoted the pop culture including Vercase, Candies, Baby Phat, and Ice Berg. Lil’ Kim joined Puff Daddy on his No Way Out tour in the year 1999.

In the year 2000 Lil’ Kim released her second album, she released the album under her label Queen Bee Entertainment, the singles that were included in the album were not that much of a success but fortunatly the album made it to #4 at the top 200 Billboard and made it to #1 at the R&B/Hip Hop charts, the album sold over 1.4 million copies only in the United States and it was certified Platinum.

After one year of joining Junior M.A.F.I.A Lil’ Kim decided that its better off for her that if she goes solo, she did that and then she released her own album named Hard Core, the album was released on the 12th of November 1996, the album was a success for Lil’ Kim, in which it made it to #11 at the Billboard 200 and made it to number 2 at the R&B charts, the album sold more than 100,000 copies in the first week that it came out in, and broke a record for the biggest selling album performed by a female rap artist, the first single that came out from the album was named “No Time” which made it to the number 1 at the rap charts and sticked there for 9 weeks, and was certified platinum, the song featured Puff Daddy which was a duet between both of the artists. The second single that she released was called “Crush On You” this song got Lil’ Kim nominated for a Grammy Award. After the release of the album in March 1997, Lil’ Kim’s mentor and secret lover Christopher Wallace was shot and killed in the middle of LA.

 When Lil’ Kim was still in the age of 10 her parents seperated from each other, her mother walked away from her and her brother named christopher, so the children had to live with their father and struggle in living and what their personal life got them, when Lil’ Kim was still young she met the future mega-rapper Christopher”B.I.G.” Wallace, who inspired Lil’ Kim throughout her life and had been a very important figuer in both her artistic life and her personal life. the relationship between both grew dramatically when Biggie Smalls gained popularity through his relationship with Bad Boy Records.

In year 1994 Biggie Smalls put a hip-hop group from Brooklyn togethar name Junior M.A.F.I.A., the group included Lil’ Kim in it , at that time she was known as Big Momma, or The Lieutenant. Although the group only released one album “The Conspiracy” they gained alot of popularity when they released their first single “Playas Anthem” which happened to top the charts of the United States. another single was released later”I Need You Tonight”, this single was the only song in the album that didnt feature the Big Poppa. The third single that was released by the group was named “Get Money” and the song made it and was certified as Gold. On the Billboard 200 the album was debuted at #8.

 Lil’ Kim was born on the 11th of July 1974, her full name is Kimberly Denise Jones, Lil’ Kim is her stage name that she goes by when she performs. She is an American rapper and singer who has managed to be a multi-platinum artist, She has been awarded a 5 mics award for her 2005 album, The Naked Truth, this award has been given to her by The Source magazine, no women performer up to this day have had the chance to win this distinction, she also has managed to win a Grammy Award for her performance in the song “Lady Marmalade” which inculded an all-star performers to sing that included Christina Aguilera and Mya.
